The White Pine

Kim Jaehan, a brilliant and ambitious young magistrate newly appointed to the Sangju district, arrives with a hidden agenda that threatens the local status quo. Shortly after his arrival, he crosses paths with Choi Yeon-ho, the eldest son of the powerful and influential Choi clan. Despite his lineage, Yeon-ho lives a miserable existence as a social outcast held in utter contempt by his own family. Jaehan finds himself strangely drawn to the innocent, suffering soul hidden beneath Yeon-ho's ragged exterior, and he begins to offer the young man a rare, genuine kindness.

For Yeon-ho, this handsome magistrate is a beacon of light in a lifetime of darkness; he falls deeply in love with the first person to treat him with dignity. However, their burgeoning bond is built on a precarious foundation. Unknown to Yeon-ho, Jaehan is meticulously orchestrating a plan to dismantle the corrupt Choi family entirely, placing their hearts on a collision course with tragedy.
